Title:
Today was the day I was to get my first dog ever who I was to call Chester Today was the day I was to get my first dog ever which was to be called Chester. I scoffed down my RiceBubbles and Yogurt then sprinted to the laundry where mum was loading the dishwasher. Mum, When are we leaving’ I shout, ‘9:00’ mum replies. ‘ I told her that mum, but she didn’t believe me’ giggles Katie my little sister who was always trying to prove she was right.
I wait three extremely slow hours waiting for the call that would say we were going to get my dog. ‘ Five Minutes till we leave’ yells mum in a tone that sounds like she was actually meaning more like 10 minutes than 5. I race to the shoe rack to get my shoes on just incase mum really meant 5 minutes. As I try to shove my foot into my Muddy sneakers that I had played football in the day before Katie comes round the corner. ‘Oh great’ I think to myself while I try hide my foot with the half on shoe hanging off it, but for some odd reason Katie didn't even care that I had shoes on that I shouldn't have, instead she was in a great mood. ‘Come on silly billy, we are going now and your best friend Holly’s coming with us’ she mumbled making sure that she got all her words out before I told her I wasn’t interested, like I usually do.
The car started and within about 8 minutes we were at the pet store. ‘YAY!!! We are there at last’ I scream as well as jumping through the air to give my parents a big hug. My older sister Amy was staring at me with disgust, she never gave mum or dad hugs and she thought that I was being like a child. Holly and Katie however were racing around the store looking for the cutest puppy they could find. ‘This one, no this one, no I think you should get this one’ came the voices of Katie and Holly who for some reason had forgotten that this was for me and I was getting the dog not them.
Jacob the pet store owner came to me and asked me if I had chosen my dog yet. It took me a few minutes but then without any hesitations I pointed to a ‘ Well groomed, Golden Labrador. ‘ That one “ I declared still with my finger pointing at the dog that I was going to buy
Reflection: Today I found it quite difficult to start my narrative because I was just getting used to working again. I found it fun after I had gotten into it and had done the main plan and starter.

This is our prior knowledge of similes displayed as a wordle document. Definition: Comparing two things that aren't alike by using like or as.
Examples 1.My dog is as fast as a cheater. 2.The classroom is as small as a microwave. 3.The sun was as hot as a fire.
This is our prior knowledge of metaphors displayed as a wordle document. Definition: Comparison of two unlike things without signal words such as LIKE and AS Examples 1.The paintbrush was a magic wand in his hand. 2.Stars are flowers in the meadow of the sky. 3.My sister is an angel when she is on her own.
Topic: Identifying Similes Directions: Complete the simile by filling in the blank. 1. The car was as dirty as a Pig rolling in the mud 2. The candy was like a rubber chew toy 3. His hands were as big as a giants 4. My little brother sounds like a school bell that won't stop 5. My room is as messy as pigsty 6. School is like a nightmare in my dreams. 7. The chair was as hard as a brick. 8. Her hair looked like a stringy messy mat. 9. The monster’s breath was like a rotten egg that has been left outside for 1 century 10. The water was as cold as an ice cube melting in my mouth 11. My lunch tasted like the food you would get in prison. 12. The rabbit was as soft as soft as a babies bottom.
Metaphors Metaphors are imaginative ways to describe something by comparing that thing to something else. For example, if I wanted to say that Dan is tall, I could say that Dan is a giant.
Use a metaphor to describe somebody who is:
tall- My dad is a giant. kind- Miss Muffet is a caring angel. fast- Kennedy is a rocketing Cheater. slow- Bob is a snail. smart- Jimi is a Frankenstein the second. fat- Starlet is a oversized pig. sneaky- Cassie is a sneaky super agent spy. angry- Jack is a angry bull. beautiful- Miss Stovold is a shimmering diamond. ugly- The superhero is a bad scented look. stubborn- Marie is my stubborn sister in disguise. short- Charlie is a dwarf. thin- Jim is a pencil on paper. silly-Tayla is a clown in an act. scared easily- Bobby is a baby with all the fears in the worlds. He is a giant- He is a towering building. She is an angle- She is a friend from the skies in heaven.
